Suffrage Sisters is a special e-EVEnt available to watch now on YouTube in two parts.
The first is “Suffrage Sisters: The Fight for Liberty” by Maggie Mead and starring Charlotte Hammett-Hubrich, Kate Scinta and Diane Stretz-Thurmond. Presented as a readers theatre piece, the decades-long struggle for women’s right to vote comes to life through the stories of Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Susan B. Anthony, Alice Paul and other real-life characters and culminates with an appeal to continue the ongoing work toward equality and justice.
In part two, “Conversation with a Suffragist,” Megan Burnett provides an intimate look into the life of abolitionist and suffragist Mattie Griffith Browne in a one-woman show that highlights the challenges and triumphs of the pioneering Kentuckian.
